Updates

So I have a few things coming up on the blog. Also I've been trying to update the top links with some recipes and my contact information so check them out. I had the opportunity to get a wallet made just for me out of duct tape from a wonderful woman(shes taking orders btw). I'm so very excited about it and getting another item made for me as well for my little one to play with. I've started my Fathers Day gifts and I have to say my husband is super spoiled, hes going to love everything. I'm painting a picture frame for my Daddy and a Fathers Day photo shoot the day before fathers day that involves my dad is going to be a perfect finishing touch. Hes coming to visit for almost two weeks since hubby is going to be in Air Assault School. Since we got notice that we have to move out by the 24th of June and be in the new house well sucks that Husband doesn't get back until the 21st... -_-. Fun. This is also the reason why I didn't post for a while since I don't have much time to pack with two kids, one pulling and one attached. This house is gorgeous and its right across the street from a park, best front yard ever right? Aubrey is going to love it. Hoping to get another post in on Sunday so keep a look out!

Super Mario Nursery

Before we even found out the gender of our second child we decided to make a list of options for the nursery. With our first we really didnt want to find out the gender so we went with something neutral like animals and ended up doing a whole giraffe theme which came out pretty awesome.

We never got around to making a list if it would be a girl since the theme I picked could go either way (Dr. Seuss) and my wonderful husbands theme was super mario. Since he really had no idea who Dr. Seuss was or read any of the books and on top of that finding out we were expecting a boy, Super Mario it was.

Going through pinterest and googling super mario nursery I came up with a few ideas to make our little ones nursery unique.

Since we live on military housing I opted out of painting the walls since it was such a pain to cover up the wonderful polka dots of my daughter room in our old rental when we were stationed at Fort Bliss. We choose to use decals that we found at thinkgeek.com. The curtains I made from fabric I found at spoonflower.com (btw is the most awesome website for cool fabrics but super expensive). I backed them with blackout curtains I took apart since we had so many left over curtains from our old place. The crib, changing table, and glider were from my daughters nursery ( shes in a big girl bed now :-D ). The big leaf, storage unit, and hanging storage we bought at Ikea. I'm in love with this nursery i cant believe it came out so great for not that much money. I am really thankful for my family who purchased all of the linens, toys and clothes that are over flowing in all the drawers and closet in this room. If you are reading this, I love you very much! This is all for now check back next week, hopefully I have a really great project for you guys to check out!

First Post/Mothers Day Post

My name is Brianna and this is my first time doing this. I'm nervous i don't know why but I am. I wanted to start last Sunday but since my son was born on April 27th I really haven't found the time to start. I wanted to start with my first post as an introduction to me but I am also going to do a Mothers Day post so you also get a sample of what I'm doing. So lets get started... I'm 25 going to be 26 in November I am a mother of 2 gorgeous children. My little girl Aubrey is 18 months as of the 1st and my son Albert was just born as mentioned. I am an Army wife and we are currently stationed at JBLM (Joint Base Lewis McChord) in Washington State. I don't have too many friends i probably count them on one hand. I could be from the constant moving or that some military wives like gossip which i hate or when i see horrible(in my mind horrible) parents i just cant bring myself to associate with them. I wanted to start blogging as an outlet, keep my mind focused constantly working. After my first child I feel like i lost a bit of myself and when i finally started to find my groove i was pregnant again and now im trying to keep myself sane through my long days of raising 2 children. I feel like if i had a focus i would feel better about myself and be a better Mom and role model for my kids.
These are my babies which I love with all my heart. :)

Me and my husband are very crafty people, hes better with the more complex crafts I like the small things. This blog will be about Me and the crafts that I make and would like to make also some recipes which i either tried or i feel are worth mentioning. I have a pinterest that you can follow. I will eventually incorporate the homeschooling I will start with Aubrey in the next few months. I am open to criticism about my blog I only want it to get better and be able to reach lots of people that have the same interests as me.

I thought that I should also explain the name of my Blog. Altriverse Creations(whats that??? hehe). Well Creations because I will be making things and at some point selling them if people find them useful or something they would like but Altriverse has a short story behind it. Altriverse was a word made up between me and my husband when we were dating and he was stationed in Germany and I was still in New Jersey(our home state). I was on my way to a fair with my friend at the time and I was texting Albert(my husband) about how much I loved him(I know cheesy right?). He asked me how much I loved him and I said more than the universe and he asked whats more than the universe, I told him that there must be a word for it. Looked it up and found nothing, obviously. He called it something like breeverse and I said it sounded silly but Altriverse sounds way cooler since it starts with part of his name and his name is way better. So Altriverse it was and it just stuck it was our word and for a few seconds a page on wikipedia that said it was the amount of love I had for him that was more than the universe and whatever else is out there combined. So cheesy but its part of our story and I love it.

Today is Mothers Day and I will let you guys in on my Mothers Day gifts I made this year for the special ladies in my life. I will admit that they did not come out how I expected but hey i tried and I will keep working at it until they are better and I can send them new gifts. I made a glass tile pendant necklace for my husband grandmother whom i love dearly  since I never got to meet either of mine she sort of adopted me :) . I found this tutorial from a blog I love. I bought my supplies from a wonderful store on Etsy. I saw that the store also offers a bracelet and since my mother loves wearing tons of bracelets I would make her one using the same method as the pendant. Since both the necklace and bracelet had backs to them I did change up how i put the jewelry together. Since you learn from mistakes it took me three tries to get it right. First DONT use photo paper!! It just makes an awful blurry mess and the colors bleed everywhere. No matter how hard I tried putting the pictures on the tile it created bubbles and lines that I couldn't get out so what I did was put the picture on the backing put the diamond glaze on the picture itself then press the glass tile on top. Doing this also takes out the step of having to glue the picture to the backing since its just doing it all at once. It looked a lot better this way even if the pictures itself were horrible and that's what I wish I could change about the gifts. I think I have found an alternative way to getting the pictures to look better and I will update if it does. It was too late to try this new way before I had to send the gifts out and I will send them new ones if I can make them better. I also made little bags for the jewelry out of extra laminated cotton I received which is part of a craft i will be posting about on a later date. Suspenseful i know!
The first picture is the one i used for the necklace the second was for the center of the bracelet
finished necklace for GMa :)
