Me and my husband are very crafty people, hes better with the more complex crafts I like the small things. This blog will be about Me and the crafts that I make and would like to make also some recipes which i either tried or i feel are worth mentioning. I have a pinterest that you can follow. I will eventually incorporate the homeschooling I will start with Aubrey in the next few months. I am open to criticism about my blog I only want it to get better and be able to reach lots of people that have the same interests as me.
I thought that I should also explain the name of my Blog. Altriverse Creations(whats that??? hehe). Well Creations because I will be making things and at some point selling them if people find them useful or something they would like but Altriverse has a short story behind it. Altriverse was a word made up between me and my husband when we were dating and he was stationed in Germany and I was still in New Jersey(our home state). I was on my way to a fair with my friend at the time and I was texting Albert(my husband) about how much I loved him(I know cheesy right?). He asked me how much I loved him and I said more than the universe and he asked whats more than the universe, I told him that there must be a word for it. Looked it up and found nothing, obviously. He called it something like breeverse and I said it sounded silly but Altriverse sounds way cooler since it starts with part of his name and his name is way better. So Altriverse it was and it just stuck it was our word and for a few seconds a page on wikipedia that said it was the amount of love I had for him that was more than the universe and whatever else is out there combined. So cheesy but its part of our story and I love it.
Today is Mothers Day and I will let you guys in on my Mothers Day gifts I made this year for the special ladies in my life. I will admit that they did not come out how I expected but hey i tried and I will keep working at it until they are better and I can send them new gifts. I made a glass tile pendant necklace for my husband grandmother whom i love dearly since I never got to meet either of mine she sort of adopted me :) . I found this tutorial from a blog I love. I bought my supplies from a wonderful store on Etsy. I saw that the store also offers a bracelet and since my mother loves wearing tons of bracelets I would make her one using the same method as the pendant. Since both the necklace and bracelet had backs to them I did change up how i put the jewelry together. Since you learn from mistakes it took me three tries to get it right. First DONT use photo paper!! It just makes an awful blurry mess and the colors bleed everywhere. No matter how hard I tried putting the pictures on the tile it created bubbles and lines that I couldn't get out so what I did was put the picture on the backing put the diamond glaze on the picture itself then press the glass tile on top. Doing this also takes out the step of having to glue the picture to the backing since its just doing it all at once. It looked a lot better this way even if the pictures itself were horrible and that's what I wish I could change about the gifts. I think I have found an alternative way to getting the pictures to look better and I will update if it does. It was too late to try this new way before I had to send the gifts out and I will send them new ones if I can make them better. I also made little bags for the jewelry out of extra laminated cotton I received which is part of a craft i will be posting about on a later date. Suspenseful i know!
The first picture is the one i used for the necklace the second was for the center of the bracelet
